I can never say no to chocolate salami, especially to a chocolate salami and a nice cup of coffee. It’s the perfect dessert to make on Valentine’s Day.

Ingredients for chocolate salami:

500g biscuits like petit beurre broken into pieces
250ml milk
150g butter
100g sugar
4 tbsp good quality cocoa
200g Turkish delight cut into small pieces
50g pistachio
A handful of raisins
2-3 tbsp rum
around 200g coconut flakes

Pour the rum over raisins. Warm the milk on low heat, add the butter and let it melt, then add the sugar and stir until the sugar dissolves then add the cocoa and whisk a bit until you have a smooth mixture. Turn off the heat then add the raisins, let the mixture cool off a bit then pour it over the biscuits mixed with Turkish delight and pistachio. Fold everything together, then split the mixture into two, sprinkle two pieces of plastic wrap with coconut flakes, and try to shape the mixture so you can get a salami shape, wrap it in the plastic wrap, roll it on the table, and tie well the edges. Sometimes I don’t use raisins and I add the alcohol to the milk mixture after it cooled a bit. Keep the chocolate salami in the fridge overnight or at least 4-5 hours until you can enjoy a slice. A cute idea for Easter would be to shape it into eggs and then cover them in chocolate, you can find the recipe video for this version here.
