We visited Copenhagen for the first time during summer, the weather in July was so pleasant, perfect for long walks and bike rides around the city. I instantly fell in love with this wonderful city, its tidiness, beautiful architecture, great coffee, and amazing pastries. We stayed 5 and a half days in Copenhagen and in one of them we went exploring the lovely city of Malmö in Sweden, you can easily get there by train. I made a list of all my favorite places, there were still a lot of them on my list but hope to visit Copenhagen again soon and explore some more.

We stayed in a very typical Copenhagen apartment, beautifully decorated and so cozy in the Frederiksberg neighborhood, a peaceful and lovely area, there is a super nice park nearby, and right across the building we stayed in there is this great coffee shop with delicious breakfast called Frede & Vester’s.

Andersen & Maillard, they have a few locations in the city, we’ve been twice to the one in Nørrebro neighborhood, we went there by bike and it was such a beautiful ride through quiet areas and lovely parks like Assistens Cemetery . Also in the same area, you can have a great chicken burger at Crisp Nørrebro, then a super delicious cardamom bun at Bageriet Benji, one of the best I’ve ever had.

Moving on the other side of the lake Soterdam you have a nice green area where you can visit Kogens Have, The Kings’ Garden, Rosenburg castle, Broen Botanical Garden, you can have a nice picnic on the grass in the park or just relax. If you get hungry after this lovely walk, you can enjoy a ramen at the famous Slurp Ramen Joint, it’s a small, fun and cozy place, loved taking photos there.

At Prolog Coffee you can start your day with a perfectly brewed cup, and just a short walk away, Hija de Sanchez serves some of the tastiest tacos you’ll find, both located in the lively, industrial-chic area of the old meatpacking district, now filled with cool restaurants and bars. For breakfast and pastries, you can’t go wrong with Ø12 Coffee & Eatery Atelier September , the beloved Hart, or Buka Bakery, each offering a unique style and flavor that makes them worth a visit. And there is of course Juno the bakery, when we first visited Copenhagen it was closed, but we tried their goodies on our second trip in January this year.

For street food lovers, Reffen – Copenhagen Street Food is a must, with countless stalls serving everything from fresh seafood to ice cream and comfort food, and on your way there, it’s worth a stop at the famous alternative neighborhood Freetown Christiania.

And for those who enjoy biking, we loved a longer ride outside the city to Jægersborg Dyrehave, a vast deer park north of Copenhagen, making a stop at Bellevue Beach along the way. It’s the kind of experience that shows you a quieter, scenic side of Denmark while still keeping that laid-back Copenhagen vibe.

Another place that was on our list was Gasoline Grill, we didn’t get the chance to try their burgers in the city, but luckily, they also have a location at the airport, so right before leaving, we enjoyed one of the best burgers we’ve ever had – with butter of course, the Danish way.
